BROOKLYN, New York - I spent the day across the bridge with the NBA's newest sensation.

We got our first chance to welcome Victor Wembanyama to San Antonio and get his throughs on the Spurs and all this attention.

I've been coming to these kinds of things for three decades and normally it has players scattered around at individual tables where media can bounce around and ask questions.

But Wemby's media availability was more like the NBA Finals, with over 100 local, national and international media in attendance.

In the past, Spurs superstars have shied away from the spotlight, but not this kid. He was asked why he seems so comfortable with all this attention.

Victor has absolutely taken over New York and on Thursday night, he'll become a Spur, something fans have been dreaming about for a year. But for Wemby, this is something that he knew was a possibility as a kid and its about to all come true.

And he just might have a summer league teammate.

We tracked down Jeremy Sochan who is here working for the NBA as a guest reporter on draft night. Sochan goes way back with Wemby, playing against him when they were 15 years old in France. So Jeremy knows Wemby's game.
