The only thing bigger than Victor Wembanyama is the hyperbole - the greatest prospect in the history of team sports. WOW.
So, while we are at it, how about some more.
What if I told you it's not about basketball at all. That this is so big it changes an entire city. If he's as big as the hype, he changes the architecture, the infrastructure, the highways. He's David, Tim and Hemisfair '68 all rolled into one.
When we landed Tim Duncan, we didn't envision the AT&T Center or five championship parades. That's been a quarter century ago.
So what will San Antonio look like 25 years from now?
It will be much different, and Wemby will be the reason. He's an international superstar.
He'll change San Antonio like MJ changed Chicago. There will be a Downtown arena, an entertainment district and corporations will move their headquarters here.
Celebrities will be regulars, the population will grow and San Antonio will be must-see national TV, leading to an even more booming tourism industry.
Too much? Why?
If you believe he's the best prospect ever, then you might as well believe San Antonio will never be the same.
